Balance

balanceWhen it comes to life, sometimes it gets difficult to juggle all of our responsibilities, and in time, our life becomes out of balance. The funny thing is we may not even realize it until it's too late. Until something drastic occurs, and we realize, "oh, shit!".

One of the keys of Taoism to to achieve that balance. To take time for the things that are important in life, and when we have many interests, many pursuits–this can become a challenge.

Thus, the solution is often to find a way to review your priorities daily or even weekly depending on your schedule. Set goals. Make a plan. Organize your life.

Then at the end of the day or week, have a check in to see how your progressing. What aspects are you making the time for? What aspects are you not completing? And for those times that you have difficultly achieving your goals, seriously question yourself. Is it a matter of over extending yourself? Is it procrastination?

It is during these check-ins that you determine how to re-organize the plan. In essence, you're learning to be flexible with what curve balls life throws at you. And in turn, you begin to truly understand what is important in the big scheme of life.

“to truly understand what is important in the big scheme of life.”

I love this line. Learning to look at my priorites and achieve some sense of balance has been tough for me lately.
“Juggling” is the perfect word for it!
