Photographing Flowers

April 15th, 2010 Brian Roberts No comments

In the summer of 2009, we had a chance to visit Michigan.  I was amazed at how even the weeds on the side of the road were beautiful.  Flowers were abundant and poking out of nearly anyplace there was a patch of earth.  Ever since, I have been obsessed with photographing flowers.  This was back when I was just getting to learn our Nikon D90.  I cheated regularly with it and used automatic settings, just to see how well it performed.  When I took the time to adjust the settings myself, the results were crisp, clear, gorgeous pictures.  Here is a slide show of some of me experimenting with the camera and playing around with its functions.  The subject matter is mostly the beautiful flowers of late Summer Michigan.  In a previous post, I played around with the camera by gallivanting through the Muskegon Farmer’s Market and snapped some great, artsy shots of fruits and vegetables.
